5 Things you can Edit in our latest Halloween game

Just like with any of our game templates, you can customize many aspects of the latest Halloween game. I’ve listed five: language, rules, design, riddles, and QR code numbers. I’ll show you how each one can be modified.

1. The Language

Currently, the game is in English. What if you want to run it in Switzerland, and you need to offer the game in French or German? Here are the different steps to edit the language:

Did you know you can change all the text on your Loquiz app with just a few clicks? Follow these instructions to change the language from the Translations page.

The task content

You’ll also have to edit each task’s content and replace the English task with your language. Gladly, this game doesn’t carry a lot of text. Translating all the tasks should take you less than 30 minutes.

The playground’s text

The playground contains a few texts that aim to instruct the players. with a few words. Initially, I wanted to leave the text on the playground. But then I thought about the translation needs. Consequently, I added additional tasks with the text as “logo”. These are tasks number 45 yo 18.

2. The Design

If you need to edit the design for your event’s need, or if you have better ideas than the original one: You can edit every piece of the design! Here are the different things to edit:

The playground

You can edit the playgrounds. To do it, go to 3. Configuration, bottom right of the page, and Playground part.

You can update these playgrounds with your own design. I advise you take the same dimension for each picture. Besides, here’s a list of the different playground elements.

• The background from the first playground
• The background from the second playground
• The logo
• The Frankenstein’s monster

The icons

Each icon can be edited as well. Perhaps, you wish for different candies? Or different Frankenstein’s body parts? It’s up to you. Here, I listed the different icons that you can edit:

• A candy
• The lever

The main logo

Go back to the 3. Configuration page. Then on the top right part of the page, you’ll find the logo. So feel free to replace it with your own logo, or with your client’s company’s logo!

3. The Riddles

The “Trick or Treat” game features 5 riddles. They’re all related to the Halloween theme. However, you might need to put some riddles related to your client’s company or industry! If so, you can simply edit the content of tasks #31 to #35. On this page, you can find all the task types; each leads to a different kind of riddle.

4. The number of QR codes

The game currently displays 15 QR codes, just like other QR Hunt-based games. However, what if you’d like to get more QR codes for more teams? Don’t worry, the 15 QR codes is not absolute: You can have more or less of them.

Play with fewer QR codes

First of all, do not remove the candy tasks. If you remove any, this will alter the task order, so it will deter the whole game’s rules. If you need fewer QR codes, you’ll just need to edit the number of points. For instance, if you have 10 QR codes, you can go from 1/3/5/8/11/15 points to 1/2/4/6/8/10 points.

Play with more QR codes

If you need more QR codes, you can add more tasks by copying #16 to #30. Then you’ll also need to edit the score rules as presented previously. And you’ll need to replicate these blocks:

If you have more QR codes, it means that you’ll need to generate more of them. So I advise you to read this article, where I explain how you can play around with QR codes and Loquiz.

5. The game’s rules

And last but not least, you can modify the game rules as much as you want! But to do this, this will need some deep understanding of the Loquiz rules. To do so, make sure you’re comfortable enough with the Loquiz Creator (you can follow this tutorial).
