When playing a Loquiz game, participants generate content. Meaning they answer questions and take photos or videos. This content can be sensitive and must be handled with care. To help you manage data responsibly, here are three essential safety tips for your Loquiz games:
If the game has been played and you no longer need to access the content generated, we advise you to delete it. We do not automatically delete your games so you should do it by hand. Sometimes there might be promises to keep the game data available for longer period, but as a best practice please consider deleting the game and the content after it has been played.
To delete a game, first close it. The “delete” button will then appear at the bottom of the pop-up window. When a game is deleted, its data is permanently removed from our databases. We do not retain this data on our servers, as we adhere to data regulations.
Please note that deleting a game doesn’t remove its associated tasks. If you do not plan to use the specific task anymore then delete the task well. To do that go to the task page and delete them manually. Same as games, once deleted, they are permanently gone. If you plan to reuse the tasks then do not delete them.
Sometimes you might want not to keep the game and the associated content. In such cases, you can still make the game’s data unavailable to the public. Simply open the game and set its status to “closed”. We recommend doing this as soon as you no longer need to share the game’s results. This will prohibit the game to be started as well.
If you want to to create games based on the specific game in the future then the adviced approach is to convert the game to the template. This does not contain player data, so it is much better to keep as a base for future games.
If you’re in the process of sharing your game data, you can also select what is shared publicly through your result page or API connection. We advise this in case your game has a lot of media, but you only want to share the ranking (funny photos or videos can be a bit embarrassing sometimes)
Go to your game, open the page “Configurations”, then look at the “Results page” section. Unselect the data that needs to be private. Then save your game.
So I detailed the 3 tips to follow to ensure that data remains confidential when needed. We, Loquiz, ask you to be careful when handling your client’s game data. If you have any questions about this topc, feel free to send me a message.
When creating a game, think about what data needs to be collected. We do not recommend collecting any personal or business-critical data through Loquiz. Also, think twice before adding photo or video tasks or activating track recording. Data not created is the best assurance against the risks of data misuse.
