Gamifying a startup

I was giving a lecture yesterday about entrepreneurship and afterwards discussion went into gamifying your business and early startups in general.

Usually the gamification happens by adding challenges, points and badges to the process at hand. The thing is that when you are starting a company there is plethora of advisers around who say that you should research your assumptions and then measure everything and test-test-test.

My advice for early starters. Gamify it by not gamifying it. Get out there and do not worry about  measuring. Just swing it. For the love of the game. Then see what comes out of that. Enjoy the process.  And then start worrying about measuring.

Isn’t that how majority of the companies actually get started? On passion.
