In order to play specific game you need to create an event. One game can be played in several events and all the teams in specific event are shown in one results table.
To explain it, here is the example – we created a game in London St James’ park and we want to use it with two separate clients. We created separate event for Acme co and then the second event for Super Ltd. Now the results of two different clients will be held separately.
To create the event, you need to have a game ready. Go to Dashboard and push button “Create new event” or go to “Events” list and push button “New”.
1. Basic settings (compulsory)
1.1. Event title
This is the title of your event. Make it meaningful (add client’s name and location), like Acme corp in Brussels. The name will be shown on the results page as well.
Choose the game you want to use for your event. One game can be used in many events with separate results pages.
1.3. Event Status OPEN/CLOSED
In order to start the games for this event, the status needs to be open. After event we advise changing the status to closed. Then nobody can start the game and this event will not be shown on events list in device (when you log in with your PRO account). Event results are still accessible if event is closed.
1.4. Event username
Unique username that can be used to access this event in mobile device. Use in case you want to give somebody access to this event only. Username needs to be unique.
1.5. Event password
Sign in password for starting specific event in the mobile device. This can be as simple as you want it to be, as it only affects starting the game. When players log in with event-specific username and password, then they can only see and open this event.
2. Advanced settings (optional)
2.1. Maximum number of teams (optional, default is No limit)
It is possible to set a limit to the amount of teams that can register to this event. Set the limit only in case you plan to give the event username and password for public use and need to limit the use of teams. For example it is a good idea to set the limit, if you create a game but do not conduct it yourself.
If set, this logo will only be shown for this event. Logo is shown in the app (on game menu and on the map) and on online results page. It allows you for example to use a client’s logo. Event specific logo will overwrite your account’s logo (if set) or Loquiz logo (default settings). Logo image is scaled down (in app longer side of an image will be 300 pixels).
2.3. The game end time
Setting the game end time will force the game to end latest at that time. If you have set game duration in game settings then the game ends at the earlier of the two (if the end time comes before the duration then game ends at specified time, if the duration is shorter than the game end time then the game ends at duration time limit).
Just notes for yourself about the event, to remember what it was all about. Not shown to the players.
2.5. Callback URL
This is purely technical feature and in Beta at the moment. This feature is used if you want to create your own custom results table. You can set the URL where the results are sent to.
Select the results pages that are publicly visible. You can choose between game info, answers, results, progress, map, photos and chat. By default all the result pages are public.
PS! When logged in with PRO user, all the possible results pages are still shown (even if not all of them are chosen to be shown).
