How to create icons for your Loquiz game using ChatGPT

When you create a Loquiz game, you can make it more visually appealing with custom pins. Add pins related to your game, client, company, or any other theme. The possibilities are endless.

However, designing each icon by hand can be time-consuming. Nowadays, you can create them in just a few clicks using artificial intelligence. It can also be a better alternative to purchasing licensed icons from websites such as Shutterstock, as you retain full intellectual property rights to the assets you generate yourself.

So I’m going to show you how to create icons for your Loquiz game using ChatGPT.

Note: My tutorial works with the free version of this LLM.

All the icons here were (quickly) generated with AI

1. Prepare the prompt for your icon

What’s your game or tour about? What style does it have? For what audience is it made for? These are important questions to keep in mind when you write prompts for your AI. This technology can provide great results as long as you have a clear idea of what you want.

In our example, we want to conceive icons for a treasure hunt. What’s the most important element of our game? The treasure, of course. In that way, we’ll need to generate a treasure chest.

Here’s the first prompt for ChatGPT:

“Please generate an icon of a chest, for a treasure hunt game made for team-building events, transparent background, simple flat design style”

You’ll need to provide at least:

  • The item: The chest
  • For what: A treasure hunt
  • For who: Team-building events
  • The style: Simple flat design style

Once you’ve checked these 4 boxes, you’ll have satisfying results.

2. Generate our icon on ChatGPT

So let’s try it now.

Aaaand… The result is amazing. It matches exactly what I want. If I had to do this 2 years ago, I would need several rounds of edits until I had something satisfying.

But let’s imagine that I’m not fully satisfied with some of the parts of the icon. Good news: You can make further edits.

Besides, you can edit the format. For example, if you want a vertical icon instead of a horizontal one, you can change it here:

3. Add it to your outdoor game, e.g. your Loquiz game

Once you have your icon, we’re going to add it to our Loquiz game: We’ll create a Treasure Hunt based on the template. Then let’s change the icon for the final treasure. Go to the task settings, Settings tab, and Pin icon:

Once you’ve saved the icon settings, check your map. Here we have our AI-made icon!

Voilà! To design your own icons, the possibilities are endless if you write the right prompt.
