In China, anything that comes from Google is blocked. Our server, our map uses Google service, so that's why. However, you can use any VPN provider. Chinese people are acquainted with this, there shouldn't be much trouble to find one suitable VPN.
Whenever you start a remote event in China, make sure that every participant is familiar with the usage of VPN/Proxy.
